Pennies for Patients
The Fourth Grade continues its tradition of doing for others. Mr. Alvarez’s class had a gallon jug filled to the top with pennies for patients. But not to be out done Tanner  brought in quite a bit. His father had offered to match everything he put into the collection jar. However Shana raised more than eighty dollars. This was probably the highest dollar amount for an individual.

WAY TO GO FOURTH!

Driving Already
The Austin Elementary School Community Service  after school club sponsored a can drive for the holiday season.  Despite having small enrollment, big hearts prevailed.  After the grand count was tallied, Fourth grade led the way by raising more than 400 nonperishable food items.

Jump for Joy…
Through Austin’s Jump Rope for Heart sponsored by Mrs. Cox, Shana from fourth grade had the most sponsors and raised more than $400.  Congratulations Shanna!

Another Opportunity…
During the months of January and February, Austin Fourth graders are looking for new or barely used blankets to donate to local shelters.
